New York Debut

Co-Presented with Queer Arts Impact and Ideal Glass

One of the most exciting music ensembles and shows to come out of Norway in recent years, the alternative metal band Next Life mediates the poles of violence and fantasy. In their eponymous show, sound and media artists Hai Nguyen Dinh (on guitars), and Tormod Christensen (on keyboard and samples) atom-smash heavy metal alternative rock with video game music culture in an airtight synthesis of audio and visuals. The strangely oscillating mixture reveals a primal, even organic heart in the darkness.

  • Co-producer Queer Art Impact is a New York arts initiative that brings together individuals and organizations that self-identify their work as queer, while creating opportunities for those living in the political and social fringe. Founded in 2004, co-producer Ideal Glass is an interdisciplinary laboratory and staging ground for cross- boundary experiments in theatre, music, performance, installation art, and media art. Additional support for this program is provided by the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in New York.
